The Construction Charity Fund was co-founded by Legislative Councillor the Hon Mr. Abraham SHEK Lai-him, GBS, JP, Hong Kong Construction Association (HKCA), Hong Kong Federation of Electrical \u0026 Mechanical Contractors (HKFEMC), Hong Kong Construction Sub-Contractors Association (HKCSA) and Hong Kong Construction Industry Employees General Union (HKCIEGU). Since it started operation on 1 October 2009, the Fund has given out HK$16.53 million to 182 families as condolence payments as at 9 March 2015. The Fund was formally launched on 26 February 2010, officiated by Mrs. Carrie Lam, GBS, JP, the Secretary for Development (current Chief Secretary for Administration).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn addition to financial support, the Fund has a social worker to provide follow-up and counseling service to individual family members of the deceased. The Fund would also refer the families to other charitable organizations, as appropriate, to apply for education subsidies for the school-age children of the affected families. In addition to Chun Wo, his clients include Richemont (Jaeger Le-Coultre, Van Cleef\u0026Arpels), Swatch Group, Nissan,HijjasKasturi Architects, KenzoTange Architects and a number of large corporates in Malaysia.He was not always a photographer; Ming graduated from Oxford at 16 with a Masters in Physics, subsequently pursuing a successful corporate career in the UK and Asia culminating in Senior Director and VP positions in finance and strategy at multinational corporations.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHowever, every spare minute out of the office was spent pursuing a passion for photography and design. Spurred on by serendipitous timing of several client offers and an invitation to join Getty Images, Ming has been photographing full time since the end of 2011.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMing's natural focus and drive has lead to photography going beyond making images; in 2013 he started serving as director and storyboard author on several video productions for existing corporate clients including Nissan and Sunway. He obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2014. Ir Dr. Derrick Pang is a member of The Institution of Civil Engineers, the United Kingdom and The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers and a Registered Professional Engineer for the State of California, U.S.A. He has over 3 years of geotechnical design experience in the United States and over 10 years of construction experience in Hong Kong. Ir Dr. Derrick Pang joined Chun Wo Development Holdings Limited in 2001 and holds several directorships in certain subsidiaries of the Group. He was appointed as Deputy Chairman and Executive Director of Chun Wo in 2010.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIr Dr. Derrick Pang sponsors and participates in a diverse range of charitable activities like “CONNECTION” and spreads his kindness to Hong Kong’s community through actions.
