I wonder what you all did for summer vacation? Chu Yat-long, who has mucopolysaccharidosis, and his younger brother became junior volunteers at Lifewire. They even brought a mystery guest along to experience office life together.

On August 23rd, Frank Fu, a Top 50 contestant on "Midlife, Sing & Shine!", held the "Frank Fu Dream Come True Concert" at the Sunbeam Theatre in Hung Hom, using his singing to raise money for children with rare diseases and for Rehab-Power.

Last Saturday, the Farm Health Education Association invited beneficiaries of Lifewire to participate in a free charitable workshop making handmade coffee ground soap and sachets.

"Heart-Wandering Journey" Art Exhibition features original artworks hand-painted by 11 rare disease patients, who use their brushes to express their inner voices, depicting over a dozen attitudes of actively seeking survival and bravely living life.

DSE results are out! Sumyuet becomes the author of her own life. Today marks the release of the 2026 DSE results. Lifewire’s own Yiu Sumyuet, who lives with spinal muscular atrophy and can only move a few fingers slightly, is also one of this year's candidates. She put in the effort and overcame her physical limitations. Her mother shared that Sumyuet was very nervous yesterday. Lifewire wishes Sumyuet all the best as she continues to pursue her dream of becoming a writer.

Summer brings the earth... summer vacation. The Lifewire community of rare disease friends are all starting their summer breaks. Lai Kwan-yi, who lives with muscular dystrophy and once couldn't even open a food container, achieved excellent DSE results in 2024 to enter the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. In the blink of an eye, she is already preparing to enter her third year.

Overcoming physical obstacles, Hester Chan, who lives with an undiagnosed rare disease and serves as a community mentor for intangible cultural heritage, has always hoped to use her hands to pass on and promote Hong Kong's intangible cultural heritage, allowing the public to experience the joy and sense of achievement in crafting traditional flower plaques.

This past Sunday, several friends with rare diseases visited the Hong Kong Snooker Academy and the Hong Kong Physically Handicapped and Able-Bodied Snooker Association for a snooker experience day, enjoying the charm of the sport together.

Huh? Why is everyone holding a script? They’re so focused because they’re going to be the little emcees for the "Strings of Love & Floral Rhymes" orchestral concert taking place this Saturday at the Academy for Performing Arts!
