Li Wing-man, who contracted polio in his childhood, leading to muscle atrophy and weakness that left him able to move only his head and a few fingers slightly, had seen his health deteriorate in recent years. A few months ago, he was hospitalized with pneumonia, but sadly he succumbed to his illness and left us.

In recent years, Wing-man could only sit in a wheelchair briefly; the rest of the time, he was bedridden and dependent on an oxygen concentrator. When the Lifewire team visited him, he was unable to sit up for long, let alone go out.
"I don't want to rely on others my whole life; if I can do it, those with the ability should help others!" With his limited strength and a generous heart, he turned his own story into a warm torch that illuminated and encouraged those around him. His love for life and his resilience will remain in our hearts forever.
While living in a nursing home, the head nurse often asked him to give speeches at schools and participate in inclusive performances. "At the Ko Shan Theatre, doing wheelchair dances and featuring in the finale—I was part of it all." He once encountered Indonesian domestic workers who were penniless and gave them $100 so they could buy lunch boxes. We thank Wing-man for the warmth and courage he once brought to this world, and may he be free from all pain in another place.
