The adherents of TCM believe that human’s vital force is strongest in summer, so spleen and stomach function can be improved by having foot baths.

And according to TCM Meridian System, the internal organs are closely related to the feet. So it is beneficial for our digestive system if we often having a foot bath.

Chinese medicine practitioner suggested using herbal ingredients with volatile oil, such as Patchouli or Beefsteak plant, it will make the blood vessels dilate and let people sweat, it helps to eliminate dampness, relieves tiredness and promotes the appetite.

Just remember one thing, you should not open the fan or air-conditioner when you having a foot bath even you feel hot or sweat. Because the pores will be opened when during the foot bath, you may easily get a cold if you open the fan.
