They may not see clearly 👓 or walk on their own 👩🏻🦼, but their willpower and abilities surpass many others 💪🏼

Congratulations to Yiu Sum-yuet, Yeung Ka-ying, and Lam Pok-yin for receiving the "HKPS Bright Future Scholarship 2026." This honor recognizes the unwavering perseverance they have shown in the face of physical limitations 👏✨

Proving with action: it is not that we persist because we see hope, but that we see hope because we persist ❤️

🌟 【Entering University with Two Fingers ── Yiu Sum-yuet】
Living with #SpinalMuscularAtrophy, Yiu Sum-yuet can only move a few fingers slightly. This year, relying solely on the thumb and index finger of her left hand, she completed her 6-subject DSE exams while lying in bed and achieved excellent results, earning her a place at City University 👏✨

🌟 【Playing Hope with Two Fingers ── Yeung Ka-ying】
Suffering from a #spinalcordglioma and paralyzed from the chest down, Yeung Ka-ying loves to play the piano. Overcoming the movement limitations of her left hand, she practiced from using just one finger to two. She believes: "Only through persistence does one see hope."

🌟 【Seeing Further Despite Limited Vision ── Lam Pok-yin】
Afflicted with #RubinsteinTaybiSyndrome #RSTS and nearly blind, Lam Pok-yin is overjoyed about the award and thanks the Lifewire team and kind donors for their support and care.

His mother says her son is brave in challenging himself; by his third horse-riding lesson, he was already able to ride a real horse. "Pok-yin said, everything is worth a try; if you don't try, how do you know if you can do it?"

She shared that when discussing the life-and-death questions that rare-disease children often face from a young age, her son humorously said, "I'm not ready to die yet," and told his mother not to cry when that time comes, asking her to keep it in her heart as a memory 🥺

Pok-yin's mother is grateful for the mutual encouragement among those on similar paths. She believes these precious children with rare diseases will surely overcome all difficulties 👦🏻👧🏻👶🏻

Wishing everyone progress; today it is Pok-yin receiving an award, and next time it will be all of you!

Lifewire also thanks you for your financial support and efforts, helping children with rare diseases go further and see more possibilities! ✨
