Greening for the beautiful environment and safeguarding children for the future of the society

Wing Ho Yuen mainly provides the horticulture service for the private housing estates and also provides the landscape maintenance service for the government. Since joining the Corporate Social Responsibility Programme of Lifewire (Lifewire CSR Programme), Wing Ho Yuen has participated in a few big charity campaigns including “Photagraphers” and “Lifewire Run 2018 – Aberdeen” by providing the venue decoration service. During the events, Wing Ho Yuen also promoted horticulture and greening. A staff member of Wing Ho Yuen said “I am deeply impressed by the perseverance of patients. We should treasure our time, families and friends.”

Generating new ideas by collaboration

A Project Manager of Wing Ho Yuen, Ellen, said that Wing Ho Yuen encouraged its staff to contribute more to the society by allowing them to do voluntary work during the office hours and promoting volunteering opportunities such as charity run in the company. She thought that the relatively long working hours in the industry might restrict the social life of the staff and hoped to broaden the horizons of the staff through the participation of the Lifewire CSR Programme. Ellen noticed that, out of her expectation, the staff could communicate more effectively and were able to think from multiple perspectives after joining the programme.

Developing talents

The staff of Wing Ho Yuen can demonstrate their talents in the charity event. The experience of Vivian, an office staff member, is a good example. Vivian who did not know horticulture initially took a course on that under the encouragement of the company. She got the chance of putting what she had learnt into practice when decorating the venue of the event, “Lifewire Run 2018 – Aberdeen”. “We were delighted and satisfied when hearing some people praising the decoration,” said Vivian.

Deep reflection

Ellen said that the staff of Wing Ho Yuen had understood more about the lives of patients since participating in the Lifewire CSR Programme. Some were inspired by patients and reflected “We are fortunate to have good health and should offer more help to others.”
