Going back home is like playing a video game, where you have to avoid numerous obstacles.
Chung Uk Tsuen in Hong Shui Kiu is old and dilapidated. The roads are uneven and full of weeds. Villagers such as children, grandparents, and wheelchair users have to be careful to avoid uneven places when entering and exiting. It is very inconvenient!
Lifewire has joined hands with a group of caring people to repair the homes of Hong Shui Kiu residents and provide them with a warm visit before Christmas!
Thanks to the enthusiastic enterprise "群利集團" who took on the voluntary work of repairing the road, the road is "easier to travel on", the villagers are in a better mood, and everyone praises it for being more convenient to travel.
On a Sunday in December, under the arrangement of the Hong Kong Lutheran Social Service (HKLSS), Community Liaison Team in Hung Shui Kiu New Development Area, Lifewire and a group of volunteers from the Civil Engineering Department, along with UK registered aromatherapist Vivian, worked with the villagers to learn how to make additive-free lip balm. Lifewire’s rare disease patient, Hester Chan, and a little villager with Down syndrome all worked together to make the lip balm, and they also visited and provided warmth together, building an inclusive community.
