[Lifewire Run 2019: Shing Mun River] Physically Handicapped and Able-Bodied in Unity, Keep Running in Adversity

2019 was a tough year. We Lifewire is striving to hold our annual charity run “Lifewire Run 2019” fearlessly. We hope to bring Hongkongers happiness and positive energy through this meaningful event!

Thanks to the staunch support from different sectors of the community, “the Lifewire Run 2019: Shing Mun River” Charity Run and Carnival, organized by Lifewire and co-organized by Chun Wo Development Holdings Limited, was successfully concluded on 10 November 2019 at On Muk Street Garden, Shek Mun, Sha Tin. We have successfully attracted more than 1,700 runners, over 90 organizations, and about 200 volunteers to participate in the Run in their roles. The total amount raised was over HK$2 million. All proceeds will be donated to Lifewire after deducting the cost to support patients with rare diseases for medical and rehabilitation purposes and to promote rare diseases.

At the opening ceremony, Lifewire was honored to invite the Permanent Secretary for Development (Works), Ir LAM Sai-hung, JP, Dr. KO Wing-man, GBS, JP, Member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and former Secretary for Food and Health, artistes Ms. Jacquelin Ch'ng Se Min and Ms. Lenna Yeung, together with the founder of Lifewire, Ir Dr. Pang Yat Bond, Derrick, JP, and other committee members to be the officiating guests. Our guests, together with the runners could call on the community to know more about rare diseases and cheer for those suffering from rare diseases. Some of the guests have already signed up for the race before and were ready to start right after the ceremony!

Lifewire Run 2019 Ambassador - Ms. Leanne Li
This year, we are honored to have Ms. Leanne Li as the ambassador of the event to support and promote the event.

4 main characters. 3 stories, The microfilm of “Lifewire Run 2019: Shing Mun River” is written, directed, and acted by 3 children with illnesses. Leanne Li, the ambassador of “Lifewire Run”, performed perfectly to help children realize their dreams.
