Support Lifewire Run and carry children with rare diseases across the finish line

Lifewire Run 2018 Charity Run is back with great honors!“Lifewire Run 2018: Aberdeen” continues to promote the community spirit of Hong Kong, running and spreading love and care. We raise funds for children with rare diseases and create a world of social inclusion.

The “Lifewire Run 2018: Aberdeen” Charity Run and Carnival, organized by Lifewire, co-organized by Chun Wo Development Holdings Limited, and presented by Kai Bo Group was successfully concluded on 2 December 2018 at Ap Lei Chau Wind Tower Park. More than 1,500 athletes and over 65 corporate teams participated in the event that day, and we have attracted sponsorship and support from more than 39 organizations.

Guests encourage them and support the special mission!

Before the start, the officiating guests called on everyone to participate in the special mission "Run for Who? ". They lead the runners to stick stickers with rare diseases children, meaning to run with them with love. The runners send the stickers to ill children after they crossed the finish line, making them feel support and blessings from others.

In addition, Dr. Fernando CHEUNG Chiu-hung and Ms. Angie CHEONG Wei-yee also shared their feelings about looking after patients, and encouraged the society to give more support; Ms. Ho Tze-lok, encouraged our children never to give up on sportsmanship.

There is so much love with you along the way!

Chen Tsz Kin, Chu Yat Long, and Chan Ka Man are our cases in Lifewire. They also participated in the 1km charity run. Although they are physically disabled, they are tough-minded. Tsz Kin was in a wheelchair and was incapable of moving uphill, Yat Long tried his best to help; wherever the three passed by, there would always be endless cheers for them... What a lovely moment!

Chen Tsz Kin and Chu Yat Long also participated in the charity run and shared their rare diseases and prospects with the participants before the official run.

Tsz Kin wants to be a Youtuber to share his daily life with netizens.
Long Long wants to be a weather forecaster in the Observatory.

Fascinating Activities of "Lifewire Run 2018: Aberdeen"

⭐ 1km Fun Run, 3km, and 8km (Individual and Corporate Cup)
Enjoy the unique view of Typhoon Shelter while running along the waterfront promenade and Ap Lei Chau Bridge.

⭐Unique design of souvenirs, incorporating the culture of Aberdeen
Goodie bag, Lifewire Run T-shirt, GoodieAberdeen featured Map Towel, Finish Medal, etc.

⭐Nostalgic Hong Kong-themed carnival
Multiple game booths: such as classic game booths from Lai Chi Kok Amusement Park, a nostalgic 4D photography area; a magic show by Albert Tam, performances of singer Vincy Chan, wheelchair martial arts, disabled groups, etc.

⭐Tour of "Authentic Local Fishing Port"
Riding on a traditional sampan to visit the Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter; enjoy a feast of authentic flavors in the Jumbo Floating Restaurant, and also help needy children, which kill two stones with one bird.

Thank you for all your support. The total amount raised was over $1,700,000. All proceeds will be donated to Rare Disease Hong Kong Limited, Hong Kong Rett Syndrome Association, Hong Kong Neuro-muscular Disease Association, Hong Kong Mucopolysaccharidoses & Rare Genetic Diseases Mutual Aid Group, and Direction Association for the Handicapped after deducting the cost to support patients for medical and rehabilitation purposes.
