Farewell UFO (Ciao UFO) Charity Screening: Witnessing an Urban Legend

This film, inspired by the famous 1980s UFO sightings at Wah Fu Estate in Hong Kong, weaves together the coming-of-age stories of three protagonists while brimming with the nostalgic charm of 80s and 90s Hong Kong.

A huge thank you to Tai Po Foodie Friends and our generous donors for their support. Last Sunday, at the Golden Scene Cinema in Kennedy Town, we joined friends from various social welfare organizations—including Silence, Ebenezer School, and Tai Po neighbors—to witness this urban legend together.

When Chan Tsz-kin, a "Snail Kid" (a nickname for those with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy), met the film’s protagonist who shares the same name, he felt a deep sense of connection to the story.

One of the leads, Wong You-nam, plays "Ho Ka-him," a character who has battled leukemia since childhood. After the screening, You-nam stayed to share his insights and feelings, helping everyone gain a deeper understanding and creating a powerful moment of resonance.

Many families living with rare diseases found the film to be incredibly empowering:
"If you believe, it will exist."
"As long as you persist, there is hope."
We hope for more meaningful films that recharge our spirits. At the same time, we sincerely invite everyone to head to the theaters to experience this piece of Hong Kong heritage and search for your own "UFO."
