Yeung Ka Ying (Ki Ki), who had Spinal Cord Glioma, and Tse Cheuk Yau (YY), who has spinal muscular atrophy, were invited by the Boys' & Girls' Clubs Association to visit Ma On Shan Chiu Chow Association Secondary School and share their experiences with a group of Form 4 students on Monday (September 29).
In addition to sharing their unique lives, the twenty-plus students were amazed to learn that YY loves painting, while Ki Ki enjoys playing musical instruments, performing magic tricks, and juggling. Their reactions were full of awe and excitement! Everyone was curious about how they had learned so many things and eagerly asked questions.
The students will also organize activities in November for Ki Ki, YY, and Yiu Sum Yuet to further connect and deepen their understanding of rare diseases.
We hope there will be more opportunities in the future for children with rare diseases to share their stories with others.
