AAI Education Foundation and See Change Education held the「AIM Cup English Speech Competition」

Reflect on the meaning of games and let children tell their inner stories

When we talk about "games", we generally think of negative words such as "mobile phones", "video games", "hurt eyes", "addicted", or time-wasting toys. Under the pandemic, "games" are more likely to be restricted to the online world. In fact, the value of the game goes far beyond this. In view of this, See Change Education will hold the "AIM Cup English Speech Competition" from March to May this year with the theme of "Children's Right to Play", so that the society can reflect on the meaning and value of games, enhance the society's awareness and importance of children's games, and let the children tell their stories from the heart.

Article 31 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child states: "The child has the right to rest and leisure, to engage in age-appropriate play and recreational activities, and to participate freely in cultural life and the arts." Many studies have also pointed out that games help children's physical and mental development, including physical development, social communication, thinking and cognition, creativity, emotional expression, concentration, learning to solve problems, understanding oneself, challenges and breakthroughs, and building self-confidence. "

Through this event, See Change Education hopes to cultivate children's creative thinking, build their self-confidence, and enhance the public's awareness of and importance of games. It also enables society to listen more to children's voices and their inner stories, embodying the spirit of the AIM Cup, namely Authentic, Impactful, and Meaningful, thereby cultivating the necessary qualities for 21st century leaders. Part of the proceeds from this event will be donated to charity, including Playright and Lifewire.

Connect with Lifewire to support the development of disadvantaged children and promote the importance of games

The winning children will have the opportunity to participate in story sharing and publish their works on different media. They can also receive certificates, trophies, prizes, scholarships, and enroll in courses at See Change Education. If you sign up for a course at See Change Education, you will also receive a copy of the Game Manual 《遊戲說明書》 as one of the prizes.

Organizer
See Change Education

See Change Education’s courses focus on communication and provide 21st century skills training. We believe that logical thinking, multi-perspective thinking, listening and expression are important cornerstones of children's growth. Let the next generation learn to empathize with others and ultimately make society harmonious. At the same time, we also actively provide children with opportunities for speeches and performances. Last year, a speech performance was held on the giant outdoor stage in the West Kowloon Cultural District, and students were allowed to interview Tokyo Olympic table tennis bronze medalist Minnie Soo Wai Yam in the Olympic venue.
